Orkla Fishing Camp

River

The River Orkla, is rated in the top 6 of Norway's most famous rivers. The water is regulated but as with all rivers rainfall is important for good levels for runs of fish.

Fishing 

The fishing consists of a Private beat of 300 metres long  with exclusive access 24hrs a day to a party of 3 rods.  The beat consists of  2 good holding pools with a riverside fishing hut which incorporates bed, table & chairs including Gappahok (shelter).

Average catch last seasons 6kg (13.5lb). This tends to be a big fish beat largest recorded 20 kilos (44lb) with an additional run of Grilse later in the season. Here is a chance to catch a real trophy fish whilst enjoying the easy wading that the beat has to offer. Gjoran Anderson from Loop likes to fish this beat.   

Accommodation 

This is the Fishing Camp at  Sturle it is a  3 *** rating, and is a mere 3 mins walk to the first pool. A traditional Norwegian Laffting house (timber) built in 1835. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 single and one twin, Bathroom with shower, kitchen, living & dining area with patio overlooking the river. This is a typical Norwegian experience, and a beautiful place to simply sit and watch the world go by. Between fishing trips to the river of course.

Day trip

If requested, a day trip to the River Gaula can be arranged, or a trip to one of our hidden places (a great little Grilse river with overnight stay if required, in an old traditional farmhouse). these trips will incur an extra charge if requested.    

Location of our Camp

50 kilometers inland from Trondheims Fjord. Transfer time from the airport is approximately 2 to 2 and a half hours.  

Guiding

Your  guide will be Mike, but you will find that this particular beat will become familiar to you in a very short period of time.

Fully inclusive price - £1650.00

The package is based on 4 persons sharing. This is a non refundable deposit if anglers cancel their booking. Final payment will be due no later than 8 weeks prior to departure. 

Price includes 

Return flights, transport to and from Vaerness Airport, transport to and from fishing beats, Self catering accommodation, (food supplied including 2 bottles of beer per person per day), State Game licence,  & guiding.
