Fly Fishing in Co Antrim
Trout, Salmon and Dollaghan
River & Stillwater
Fly Casting & Fly Tying Lessons

This beautiful part of N. Ireland is a fly anglers dream at a time when the habitat of the wild brown river trout is depleting all over Europe, and when some fly fishing for trout has an artificial character, N. Ireland offers the true essence of the sport - the pursuit of wild trout taking hatching fly in natural waters. Rivers like the Six Mile Water in County Antrim provide challenging sport with selective trout of high average size. Fly fish this trout stream which winds through the pastures and also offers the angler a chance of a Salmon or the unique Brown Trout The Dollaghan which behaves in a similar way to a sea trout but instead of going to sea it runs to Lough Neagh which is the largest freshwater lake in the UK covering a mammoth 153 sq miles (400 sq km) and touches five of the six counties of Northern Ireland. The Dollaghan grow in many ways similar to Salmon up to 3lb every year while in the Lough dew to the feeding there , this makes them one of the biggest wild Brown trout with many specimens being caught most seasons. Successful methods are spinning, worming, and fly fishing. But the fly is often most productive in the evening and into the night they are especially attractive for the Trout angler.
